Strategic Context & Investment Opportunity:
Mongolia will host the UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar in August 2026, reinforcing its position as an emerging destination for green and sustainable investment. The country is actively engaging with international investors and development partners across green growth, sustainable land management, and nature-based solutions.
With 1.56 million square kilometres of rangeland, high solar irradiation, strong wind resources, and a growing sustainable agriculture sector, Mongolia offers significant opportunities, including in nature-based investment and carbon finance. Green growth is a national priority, supported by partners such as the World Bank Group, UNCCD, and GEF.
This dialogue brings together international investors and Mongolian stakeholders to highlight key opportunities, demonstrate high-level commitment, and advance concrete next steps ahead of COP17.
